Concept to Reality

Where our name came from

Eye- catching, Unique
& Unforgettable!

The home of The Rebellious Cow is the lovely East Devon town of Colyton. Despite it's quaintness the town is known as the most rebellious town in the country ~ a name earned during The Monmouth Rebellion.
Colyton residents still have a rebellious nature. When someone complained about underwear being hung out to dry in a garden in 2018, the townsfolk responded by hanging underwear everywhere from the front of shops to houses ~pants were flying in protest.
About Our Director
Lindsay Palmer

From the Sheraton to
Furniture range launches..
The Rebellious Cow is lead by Lindsay Palmer, our amazing director. After completing 5 years of training in Interior and Architectural Design, Lindsay launched her career designing interiors for prestigious Sheraton and Hilton Hotels.
Following a year with a fabric company, she took an adventurous 4-year break as a Holiday Resort Manager in Greece and Austria, gaining valuable hospitality experience.
Returning to the UK, she joined Sanderson Fabrics as Contractor Manager, where she spent 6-7 years selling fabrics to furniture manufacturers across the UK. Her expertise led her to source and develop fabrics directly with mills in Italy, Belgium, and the US, culminating in the successful launch of Sanderson Furniture in 1998.
The birth of a business
Lindsay's career evolved into the holiday lodge market with the next 18 years designing, sourcing, and building high-end lodges for companies. She also maintained freelance design work for various clients including Jack Fleckney, Shirefit, and Northampton Saints.

Major Relocation to Devon
A major relocation to Devon happened in 2018 when Lindsay took on several management roles, including Forever England and Kings Garden Centre.
In 2023, she joined Ashley Wilde Group as South West Manager selling fabrics, curtains, blinds, and bedding to retailers, workrooms, upholsterers, and interior designers.

Drawing on decades of industry expertise, Lindasy recognized an exciting opportunity to bring something truly special to Devon – a comprehensive design service that goes far beyond traditional interior design.
Beyond traditional interior design

You might have noticed, tucked away in our logo is a dragonfly. To us the dragonfly symbolises beauty, colour and freedom.
